Middlemount Community School is a state school that provides a quality education from Prep to Year 12. Our school, with an enrolment of approximately 300 students, serves the local mining community of Middlemount and the surrounding rural properties. In Prep to year 6, we develop strong foundations through the Australian Curriculum and our literacy and numeracy programs. Our Junior Secondary department builds on these foundations, with a strong focus on wellbeing and engagement. In the senior phase, students are prepared for further education and training or pathways into employment and industry through a successful program of school based apprenticeships and traineeships.
Our staff members are highly committed to supporting the individual learning needs of all of our students and achieving continuous improvement in student outcomes. Our school has explicit, high expectations of all learners; we expect and recognise success. All members of our school community are asked to take personal responsibility and accountability for learning outcomes. We care about the wellbeing of students and strive to provide a positive school environment, with a range of sporting, cultural and leadership opportunities for students. We recognise the importance of parents as our partners in all aspects of our school, from classroom assistance to decision making.
