Computer and science labs
Currently Middlemount Community School has access to four computer rooms each with approximately twenty computers each. We have recently upgraded one room with new furniture and twenty new computers. Aside from our main computer rooms our primary school students benefit from having computers in each of their classrooms. Other technology that our students and teachers have access to includes:
- Interactive whiteboards in every classroom
- Bee bots
- Microscopes
- A surround sound AV room
- Listening posts
- iPads
We are also very fortunate that within our school we have two science labs that can be accessed by all students. This allows our primary students to conduct experiments such as our recent Year Five eye dissection. The two science rooms have recently been refurbished and as such students have access to all the equipment, chemicals and space needed to investigate, explore, create and observe scientific experiments.
Manual arts
Students studying Manual Arts have access to a range of specialised equipment including MIG welders, welding bays, wood and metal lathes, bandsaws, metal fabrication equipment and a range of other tools and equipment. We have the facilities to offer Certificate I in Engineering in senior education.
Home economics and industrial kitchen
At Middlemount Community School, we have the facilities to allow senior students to plan, conduct and run their own catering ventures. In this process, students will have access to a large kitchen and preparation area, dining room and industrial coffee machine. Our kitchen facilities are not exclusive to students in senior school and as such primary school students also enjoy cooking a range of delicious, delectable delights.
Art room
Middlemount Community School has a fully equipped Art Room available for use by all students. It includes features such as easels, pottery wheels and specialised photography equipment.
