STEM Workshop - Moranbah

A group of our high performing year 10 students recently had the opportunity to participate in the QMEA Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) for school kids day in Moranbah.  Jake Barber, Loyandi De Jager, Eddie Fowke, Ethan Bolton, Jakob Johns, Addison Kotz, and Bianca Marion travelled to Moranbah to work with students from other schools and gained an insight into the professional careers in the minerals and energy industry.
During the one day workshop, students completed three practical activities which focussed on a number of areas of science, engineering and maths. These hands-on activities were based on real world activities conducted by minerals and energy professionals.
The students had an opportunity to network with industry professionals who work on minerals and energy worksites and understand more about their roles, their career paths and what they do.
